Editorial policy
How we choose what to list
Guide entries — restaurants, pubs, events and travel advice — are chosen by our editorial team. They cannot be bought. Paying to advertise never moves a business into an editorial pick.
Directory listings are a separate, clearly labelled commercial product. Free listings appear below paid ones, and paid placement is always marked as Verified or Featured so you can see it.
Prices, timetables and fares change. We label estimates as estimates and ask you to confirm with the operator before you rely on them.
Verification
What 'verified' actually means
- ✓ Company or sole trader identity confirmed
- ✓ Public liability insurance seen and in date
- ✓ Relevant trade registration checked (Gas Safe, NICEIC, SRA, CQC, private hire licence)
- ✓ Listing removed if a serious complaint is upheld and unresolved
